UNITED: Inclusion and Diversity of Learners with Diverse Backgrounds

We are proud to announce that we are starting a new project ‘UNITED: Inclusion and Diversity of Learners with Diverse Backgrounds (2022-2-DE02-KA210-VET-000092335)’, co-funded by Erasmus+. The project coordinator is XU Exponential University of Applied Sciences, Germany (https://xu-university.com/en/)

The project aims at enhancing the partnering organisations by educating our staff members and peers on the most important European values of Inclusion and Diversity. The main objective of “United” is to build a sustainable culture in which a diverse team of people work together, feel comfortable and are confident to be themselves. Educate our staff to strive for excellence and recognize that differences make us stronger and encourage a culture of respect and respectful expression of ideas and opinions.

Throughout the project duration, the following activities will be implemented:

Develop Diversity-Centred Learning Objectives

Before developing the training program, our consortium will specify precisely its  learning objectives. During this activity – specific statements in the form of learning objectives will be defined. The main purpose of the learning objectives is to inform our learners what they will be able to do at the completion of their learning experience.

The consortium will also define the exact course hierarchy of the blended training program. Each partner will conduct focus interviews with the target groups, e.g. 2 focus group interviews in total.

These focus group interviews will aim at supporting our consortium in prioritising the exact learner needs, e.g. the gap between the learners’ current level of knowledge and skills concerning the Inclusion and Diversity values, and the level of knowledge and skills required to build a more diverse and inclusive environment for our network (co-workers, students, clients, peers, etc). The main purpose of these interviews will be to become aware of the following aspects:

  • Explore the learning behaviours of the selected target audience.
  • Draw an appropriate learning experience.
  • Balancing learning objectives with engaging ways to deliver this training.
  • Specifying how the learning objectives would be assessed.

Detailed analyses will be made from each partner and the findings will be compared according to each audience.

Development of Blended Training Program and Training

The key priority of this blended training program is to support the target audience in obtaining relevant soft skills to create an environment of sustainability in which a variety of individuals can work collaboratively, feel secure and be sure that they are accepted.

This activity will also significantly contribute to achieving the project objectives by delivering high-quality training in hybrid mode.

Training Program Evaluation

The training evaluation will identify some possible training gaps and even to discover opportunities for improving our training program. By evaluating the quality of our training, the consortium will be able to assess whether our blended training program is able to achieve its intended outcome, and if the produced training materials and resources are aligned with our project goals and objectives.

Stay tuned for more updates!
