DeepTech: Luxembourg Creative Lab Advances Ethical AI Skills for Creative Educators

Luxembourg Creative Lab has reached an important milestone in its ongoing work to promote responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in the creative sector. As part of its contribution to the Erasmus+ co-funded project “DeepTech for Creative Trust: Countering Deepfakes and Enabling Ethical AI in the Audio-Visual Industry” (Project No. 2025-2-LU01-KA210-VET-000371932), the organisation has supported the completion of a key document titled “Ethical AI Skills for Creative Educators – Mapping the Training Program Content.”

Developed under Activity 1, which focuses on co-designing the training programme “Ethical AI for Creative Trust,” this document lays the foundation for a comprehensive and forward-looking educational framework. It defines both the pedagogical structure and the competence areas of a six-module training programme aimed at equipping educators, trainers, and creative professionals with the tools needed to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI and deepfake technologies in the audio-visual sector.

At a time when synthetic media is reshaping how content is created and consumed, the initiative responds to a growing need for new skills and critical awareness. The training programme addresses key emerging competences, including AI literacy in relation to generative technologies, the ability to detect and verify deepfakes, and the development of ethical reasoning and critical judgement. It also places strong emphasis on legal and copyright awareness, as well as on fostering responsible, transparent, and trustworthy creative workflows.

Through its involvement in this process, Luxembourg Creative Lab continues to play an active role in shaping innovative and socially responsible approaches to digital transformation in the cultural and creative industries. The organisation remains committed to strengthening trust, transparency, and ethical standards in the use of AI, particularly in sectors where authenticity and credibility are essential.

Building on the insights from this mapping phase, the project consortium is now moving forward with the development of the full training programme. This next stage will include practical exercises, real-world case studies, and comprehensive learning materials designed to support educators and creative professionals in applying ethical AI principles in their daily work.

The project brings together a strong European partnership, including Luxembourg Creative Lab, XU Exponential University in Germany, and Budakov Films in Bulgaria. Together, the consortium is contributing to the development of responsible AI use and reinforcing digital trust across Europe’s creative and audio-visual sectors.
