Green Horizons: Focus Group Interviews, Luxembourg

We are thrilled to announce the success of a recent focus group held by Luxembourg Creative Lab, as part of the Erasmus+ co-funded “Green Horizons” Project (Project No: 2024-1-LU01-KA210-VET-000243985).

🌿 The focus group is a key element of Activity 1: Development of an Assessment Tool for Service-Based Learning (SBL) Initiatives.

During the session, we gathered valuable insights on integrating green competencies into the curriculum, which is vital for equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to address sustainability challenges.

Here are some of the key takeaways:

💡 Clear and Consistent Signage
Participants highlighted that clear signage, coupled with public education, digital tools, and strategically placed recycling bins, is essential to reduce recycling confusion and improve waste sorting practices.

💡 Quantifying Green Competencies
We discussed the importance of measuring and quantifying the impact of green competencies. This step is essential for validating the effectiveness of sustainability efforts, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that these initiatives are scalable and results-driven.

💡 Service-Based Learning (SBL)
The focus group emphasized the importance of SBL in sustainability education. This approach engages participants in hands-on, real-world activities that not only address environmental challenges but also help them acquire practical skills and competencies crucial for creating lasting positive change.

This focus group marks a significant milestone in the “Green Horizons” project, bringing us closer to creating innovative tools and frameworks that will shape the future of green education. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to work on empowering learners to make a meaningful impact on sustainability!
