Luxembourg Creative Lab was proud to take part in the Anefore Annual Conference, held on 10 December 2025 at the Lycée Hubert Clément in Esch-sur-Alzette. This flagship event, organised by Anefore – the Luxembourg National Agency responsible for implementing European programmes in the fields of education, training, youth and sport – brought together nearly 70 beneficiaries and friends of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes.

The conference offered an inspiring platform for exchange, reflection and celebration of European cooperation, innovation and civic engagement. It also highlighted the growing impact of EU-funded projects in Luxembourg, an area that closely aligns with Luxembourg Creative Lab’s mission to foster innovation, inclusion, sustainability and learning across sectors.

Strong Results for European Programmes in 2025

In her opening address, Christine Pegel, Director of the National Agency, underlined the excellent results of the 2025 selection round. More than €10 million were allocated to projects selected under the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps calls for proposals. These projects will enable the implementation of 5,869 mobility activities, representing 778 additional mobilities compared to the previous year. These figures clearly demonstrate the vitality of European cooperation programmes in Luxembourg and their growing reach across education, training and youth sectors.

Celebrating Innovation and European Values in Education

A highlight of the conference was the presentation of the European Innovative Teaching Award 2025 to the Erasmus+ school education project “V.I.C. – Values Identity Culture”, coordinated by the Lycée Hubert Clément in Esch-sur-Alzette. The project was recognised for its innovative and inclusive approach to promoting European identity among students.

Through intercultural exchanges, creative workshops and critical reflection, the project enabled young people to explore and embrace European values, strengthening their civic engagement and sense of belonging. Jean Theis, Director of the Lycée Hubert Clément, and Michel Fabeck, project coordinator, shared powerful insights into the project’s journey and its lasting impact on students, teachers and the wider school community.

Excellence in Digital Collaboration: eTwinning Awards

The conference also celebrated excellence in digital collaboration through eTwinning. Three projects carried out by teachers in Luxembourg were awarded the National eTwinning Quality Label 2025, recognising outstanding projects that achieved a high level of quality at national level.

In addition, the Lycée Edward Steichen in Clervaux received the national award for the most active eTwinning school during the 2024–2025 school year, highlighting its strong commitment to European collaboration and innovative teaching practices.

Youth Engagement and Solidarity in Action

Youth-led initiatives were also in the spotlight. Caroline Reviriot, Director of Programmes at Wecitizens, together with Badr Chimi, a young volunteer, presented the outcomes of the European Solidarity Corps project “CLUB EUROPE Luxembourg-ville.” Designed by young people for young people, the project responds to a crucial need: helping youth better understand the European Union, its values and how it functions, while offering concrete opportunities for civic participation and engagement.

A Moment of Transition and Gratitude

The conference concluded with an emotional address by Marguerite Krier, long-standing President of Anefore, who announced her decision to step down from her role. After many years of dedicated service marked by commitment and memorable achievements, she will now devote her energy to her new role as a school mediator. Her contribution to the development of European programmes in Luxembourg was warmly acknowledged by participants.
